About the workshop
We’ll start the day with a friendly welcome and a chat about how The Flower Appreciation Society began, along with plenty of tips and advice for starting out in floristry or working with flowers at home. You’ll learn how to select the best blooms, combine colours, create natural shapes, and condition your flowers for maximum longevity.
Next, we’ll demonstrate how to arrange flowers in a vase using sustainable, foam-free techniques. Then it’s your turn! You’ll create your very own centrepiece using a generous selection of beautiful seasonal blooms. The vase and flowers will be yours to take home.
After lunch, we’ll move on to a larger-scale floral arrangement using sustainable methods. Each participant will have the opportunity to design their own floral masterpiece in one of our large antique vessels. There will also be time to photograph your creations, and we’ll take some high-resolution images for you too.
We’ll finish the day with a hand-tied bouquet session, teaching you how to arrange, wrap, and package your bouquet for easy transportation — yours to take home as well.
When in season, we use British-grown flowers and foliage. We encourage you to bring your camera or smartphone to document your creations throughout the day. We will also take high res pictures of your creations which we will send you after the workshop.
All flowers, materials, and refreshments are provided. Please bring a big, strong bag to take your arrangements home safely.
We can’t wait to get flowery with you!

Testimonial
"I had absolutely no experience in floristry before doing Ellie & Anna's one day course but it really didn't matter. From the moment you walked into their flower-filled workshop you felt at ease, and the girls were so encouraging and inspiring, even my somewhat 'wild' first attempts made me feel proud. I couldn't recommend this course more for people wanting a taste of floristry, or even those who already have experience and want to see how the FAS' signature style can help their work. The day was well-scheduled in a relaxed environment, meaning you genuinely take away useful skills and information - and a whole lot of beautiful blooms! The course has given me the confidence to approach my local florist to help out - I couldn't have done that before. Thank you for a wonderful introduction to magical world of flowers!"
